I offer bespoke editorial services to writers of fiction and narrative non-fiction. I enjoy working with writers at all levels of development, and with any length of text, whether it’s a short story, an essay or a full-length book manuscript. I have experience of working within all levels of education and academia, as well as in non-academic settings. I work by giving line-edits and written feedback, with a follow up online feedback meeting.
Editorial pricing is based on £200 per day. As a guide, a manuscript of around 80,000 words generally takes between 5- 10 days to fully line-edit, depending on which drafting stage you are at.
I also offer mentoring to writers who are looking for continuous feedback over 6 month period for an ongoing project or body of work. I work by reviewing your writing every four weeks and offering feedback via an online meeting.
Mentoring is priced at £95 per month for a 6 month period. Please get in touch if you would like to discuss a longer or shorter mentoring period. Please note that mentoring does not include written line edits in your document as standard, but I can offer a combination of editing and mentoring if you would like (see below)
If you have a combination of editorial and mentoring needs, I can also tailor something that works for you! Perhaps you would like detailed line edits the opening chapters of your novel, and then a wider conversation about where the next chapters could go. Perhaps you would like me to proof read a final draft and then have a mentoring session on how to pitch to agents and publishers.
